Guitar – after school music tuition – Years 2-4
Music Partnership North (MPN) – Northumberland, is able to offer us the opportunity to run after school guitar tuition on Mondays again this year.
How much will it cost?
There are normally 10 lessons (30 minutes) in each term, with the dates of the tuition set by MPN. MPN recommends groups of no more than 4 pupils per lesson but groups can be larger or smaller.
The cost will depend on how many children take up the tuition – if for instance there are four children in the group the cost will be around £46 for a term of 10 lessons or around £60 if there are only three in the group. We will have to pay MPN in full for a term’s lessons therefore we won’t be able to offer refunds for any music tuition fees for illness or if a child chooses not to attend.
Instruments
Children can either borrow a school guitar or bring their own.
Booking
MPN is able to offer lessons after school on Mondays. Last year we ran three groups – at 3.10pm, 3.40pm and 4.10pm. If your child is allocated to one of the later times you will need to collect them from school at the usual pick up time of 3.00pm and then return them to school for their lesson. Alternatively, we do have an area in school where you can wait with your child if you would prefer not to travel back and forward.
If your child would be interested in taking part, please return the attached reply slip no later than Friday 23 September 2016. We hope to be able to start the lessons on Monday 3 October (that would allow us to offer eight lessons in the autumn term).
To reserve a place for your child we require a deposit of £20 (cash or cheque payable to NCC). Once we know how many children are participating we will then write to you again to ask for the outstanding balance for the term and to confirm your child’s lesson time. As we will calculate the cost according to how many sign up for the club we will not be able to return the deposit should your child decide they do not wish to take up a place. If there is not sufficient interest to run the lessons we will, of course, refund your deposit.
