Simon Bartram - author and illustrator visit Dec 2016

Simon Bartram, author and illustrator, came into school on Thursday 8 December and he was brilliantly bonkers!   The children in Years 1-4 absolutely loved Simon’s presentation and storytelling.  Simon read two of his stories to the children – Man on the Moon and the follow up to this book - Bob’s Best Ever Friend.  Both books are fantastically illustrated by Simon and are very funny.

Both books feature Bob, a man who lives on Earth but works on the Moon.  Simon has hidden aliens in every picture but the story says Bob knows “there’s no such thing as aliens.”  The children found this really amusing and they really enjoyed looking for them in the pictures.

Simon also spent time in our Early Years reading stories and drawing aliens.  They really enjoyed the eye catching illustrations and learning about the moon and space.

The morning was a great success and we are very grateful to Simon for coming into school and inspiring the children to write and illustrate their own stories.  Thank you too to Mrs Wood, our Nursery Teacher, for organising the visit.

I hope you enjoy the photographs we have posted below.
