Spring 1: Help! People Who Help Us!

The Great British Garden Birdwatch 2018

We're learning about birds this week ready to take part in the British Birdwatch this weekend! We've made bird feeders, identified new birds and even made new birds for our display. Thank you to Tristan's Mum, Anna, for leading our session today. The kids and staff learned so much!

A successful first week!

What a wonderful first week back at nursery. We've welcomed a new friend into our group by making cards and discussing how we could make him feel at home. I hope we did a good job!  We've changed our timetable this week, we now start our morning with small group, adult led activities. Each week, we will have topic related activities, based on our theme, people who help us. These are the activities we publish on tapestry. In addition to this, we will have one session dedicated to fine motor and name writing activities and one session learning about Jesus, how he helped people and how we can carry on his work. Also new to our timetable this week is PE in the hall and baking with Mrs Morphet. The children are all eager to bake with Mrs Morphet. Everyone will get a chance to do this but we hope you appreciate that it will take a few weeks to get through everyone. One week the children will bake goodies for nursery friends to enjoy and the following week for reception friends. Thanks once again for all of your support especially with writing the children's names with them as they enter school, it's making a great difference!

We're looking forward to welcoming our families back to school after a long and restful break. Our overall topic for the Spring Term is 'Help' with a focus on 'People Who Help Us' during the first half term. If you think you can help us deliver aspects of this topic then please let us know. We'll be finding out about doctors, the police, firefighters, vets and dentists. We will also be taking part in the Great British Garden Bird Watch at the end of January so look out for ways in which you can get involved in that!
