Summer Reading Challenge 2016

29th July 2016

The Reading Agency and Libraries present The Big Friendly Read – Summer Reading Challenge 2016

Steph Penny from Corbridge Library was in school on Tuesday 19 July to talk to the children about this year's Summer Reading Challenge.  Please encourage your children to sign up and keep reading over the summer.   To celebrate Roald Dahl’s centenary, this year’s challenge is called ‘The Big Friendly Read’ and features some of his best-loved characters.  The aim of the challenge is to get children to sign up at their local library and read six books during the summer holidays.  The Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at children 4 – 11 years.  Children can sign up at any Northumberland Library.  It is completely free to sign up and the children will receive a colourful starter pack to keep track of their reading.
