Tennis for Kids - coaching opportunity - Y3 and Y4
26th April 2017
Dear Parent
We are delighted to invite your school to be part of the historic Great Britain Davis Cup winning Team’s Tennis for Kids programme. In December 2015, Andy Murray led Great Britain to become World Tennis Champions for the first time in 79 years and as a legacy we want to help get thousands of children involved in tennis.
What is Tennis For Kids?
We’re working with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) to introduce more than 10,000 children nationally to the sport by giving them FREE COACHING and a FREE TENNIS RACKET. This will be the second year of the Programme and we want to build on last year’s success.
Beginning on Sunday 7 May we will be running a 6-week course led by an LTA accredited coach for 8 children in Y3 or Y4 at Corbridge Tennis Club between 9.00 – 10.00am. Every child that successfully completes the free course will be given his or her own tennis racket.
The dates of the course are: 7, 14, 21 May & 4, 11, 18 June 2017.
Be part of the Team
We really appreciate your school’s support for the Programme and encouraging the children to give tennis a go – it is a fantastic lifelong family sport, whether they’re 7 or 77.
I am very happy to discuss the Programme further with you but in the meantime I should be grateful if you would complete the permission slip and return it to school no later than Wednesday 26 April.
If we have more than eight applications the names will be drawn in the presence of the head teacher. You never know but we might discover a future Wimbledon champion!
