Y3 - JDP Scavenger Hunt - 16 February

16th February 2017

Y3 - Walk to river in Corbridge - JDP Scavenger Hunt

Y3 will walk down to the river in Corbridge on the morning of Thursday 16 February from 9.30 to 11.30am.  The children are taking part in this year's John Davidson (Pipes) Sustainability in Schools competition and will be scavenging for different leaves, twigs, sticks, feathers and any other materials they can find to create their own woodland scene/collage.  JDP has provided us with adventure packs complete with the tools and equipment the children will need.

During the morning we will be talking about the trees we see, looking at the leaves to decide what kind they are and discuss any small animals we find on our hunt.  On the way to the river we will be discussing things that we see made out of rock linking to our science topic this half term.

The best five pieces of artwork will be entered into the competition.

Coat, Wellies and Snack

The children will all need a warm coat and wellies to take part in the visit.  We will have a break and a snack during the walk.  Please provide your child with a small snack to have during the morning - either a piece of fruit or a healthy snack.  This needs to be in a sealed bag.  Please remember we are a nut free school!
