Year 2 - Fuse Media Centre Visit

1st March 2016

Dear Parent/Carer

Year Two – visit to The Fuse Media Centre - Prudhoe

Wednesday 24 February 2016

As part of our cross curricular approach to learning, Year 2 will be visiting The Fuse Media Centre, Prudhoe on Wednesday 24 February 2016.  We will be using the TV studio and green screen facilities to create a short documentary about ‘The Great Fire of London’, a topic that has inspired and excited the children this term.  We will develop our ICT skills, as well as speaking and listening and writing our own scripts for the information work.  It will be an exciting project.

Children should be dropped off at school at the usual time.  We will be travelling to Prudhoe by coach and will be back in school around 1.00pm.

Clothing

Children should wear their school uniform.

Lunch and Water Bottles

All children will require a packed lunch.  If your child normally has a school meal and would like a school packed lunch to be provided please indicate this on the slip below.  Please also ensure that your child has a refillable water bottle to take on the visit.

Contribution

In order for the visit to go ahead we need to ask parents/carers to pay a contribution to cover the cost of the coach travel and use of The Fuse Media Centre.  The cost of the visit will be £8.00.  Payment can be made in cash or by cheque (cheques should be made payable to NCC – please mark your child’s name and Fuse Centre on the back of your cheque).

Parent Helpers

We are looking for a small number of parent helpers to accompany us on the visit.  Please indicate on the attached slip if you are able to help – we will take offers of help on a first come/first served basis.

Please return the permission slip on the letter posted above along with your payment

no later than Thursday 11 February 2016.  Thank you.
