EYFS Royal Wedding

What fun we have had celebrating friendships and families. We've taken the up-coming Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as a chance to talk about families, friendships and ways to look after one another. The discussions that came from the children were exceptional, they are certainly very sensitive to the differences amongst our wonderful families. They are an absolute credit to their own families.

We held our own weddings in both nursery and reception with all children involved in various roles. We had a bride, groom, the extended wedding party, photographers and witnesses. The wedding parties arrived in style on the bikes and I'm sure you can agree that they all had the biggest smiles on their faces throughout the day.

Our vows were all about taking care of our friends as we move through Corbridge First School (and I think all of us adults agree - it was a bit of a tear jerking moment!) We partied in style after the ceremonies with cakes, juice and wedding waltzes.

This has by far, been one of our most memorable days of the year. Not only did Mrs Hutchinson and myself find it as an excuse to wear our own beloved wedding dresses again - but to see the children so engaged and excited was just one of life's special moments!
