"Big Brunch in aid of Christian Aid"

23rd May 2023

On Tuesday 23 May we will be holding a ‘Big Brunch Celebration’ in aid of Christian Aid. During the brunch we will be offering a range of breakfast treats, fruit and fruit juices to share.

We will be asking families to make a small contribution to the event with a suggested donation of £3 per family. The children will be learning about the wonderful work of Christian Aid throughout the week alongside special ‘pea-themed’ activities. Once we have covered the cost of the breakfast, the remaining money will be donated to Christian Aid.

This year, the focus of Christian Aid will be on supporting long term projects such as their work in Malawi. For thousands of farming families in Malawi, pigeon peas are a route out of poverty. The mighty pigeon pea is drought resistant, so thrives in the dry fields of southern Malawi. It’s an essential part of the diet of millions of people around the world.

This Christian Aid Week we will work around a pea theme and pledge to raise at least £70 which would be enough to buy a bicycle so that an experienced farmer can reach over 100 farmers in remote areas and teach them essential business skills.

We are aware of allergies and dietary requirements but please speak to class teachers if there is anything additional we need to know. All donations will be collected on the morning of Tuesday 23 May.

We look forward to sharing this exciting event in school and ‘pea-ing the best we can pea!’
