Staffing from September

5th September 2016

Dear Parents/Carers

Staffing – September 2016

I am very pleased to welcome Mr Harrison who will be our new Year Four class teacher.  Mr Harrison has just completed his Teach Direct Training year and joins us with outstanding references and a wide range of experience in educational environments.  We are very lucky that he will be able to join us for transfer day on Tuesday 5 July and I know he will be another asset to our team.

Miss Storey will be working in a part time role with us from September as an established member of the Leadership Team.  Her core responsibility is for the management of SEND  within school.  She will have no specific class teaching responsibility but will continue to undertake her coaching and mentoring roles.

Mrs Burton is a senior teacher and was successful in her application to undertake new responsibilities as part of the Leadership Team.  Mrs Burton has proved to be an outstanding teacher across all of the primary phases.  She will return to her specialist area of the Early Years in September.  Mrs Burton will undertake the role of Early Years’ Manager and will deputise in the absence of the Head Teacher.

The Reception class were pleased to hear Mrs Sommerville will continue to teach them in Class One for the first half of the autumn term.  They were also very excited to hear she is going to have a baby!  We send our best wishes to Mrs Sommerville and her family at this exciting time.  After October half term the children will have a new teacher as we will be making an appointment to cover Mrs Sommerville’s maternity leave.  As ever, we will ensure that the staff handover is thorough and the transition is smooth for the children.

On transfer day (5 July) the children will start and end the day following their normal routines - entering and leaving school with their current teachers.  During the day the children will be with their new teacher – the table below shows how everything fits together.  It is a particularly exciting time for Year 4 and I hope that they thoroughly enjoy transfer day at their new middle school.
