Home learning / Remote Education from September 2020
As a school we have been closely following the Government’s guidance for schools which states that we must be prepared to provide remote education for any pupil who cannot attend due to A COVID-19 related absence.
This absence may be due to self-isolation, quarantine rules or as a result of increased local and/or national restrictions.
As a school, we have listened to feedback on our approach to remote education during the lockdown period and were very pleased with the high levels of pupil engagement.
We were also very thankful for all of your support – we know how challenging home schooling is and for most families this was not an easy time. We are also acutely aware that most people are juggling multiple family commitments, children of different ages and their own jobs too so as we have said all along - please be kind to yourselves!
With that said, we want to be as prepared as possible ahead of any need for pupils to be out of school and are therefore providing with you the information below should you need to access remote learning at any point this year.
Our website will be updated with guidance, resources and useful links to support you and your child at home. You can also contact your class teachers directly on their school 360 email addresses below with any questions you may have.
From the start of this academic year we will be moving our home learning to Google Classroom as our main platform for remote education as well as the many other online resources available to our pupils (links on our website).
If your child cannot attend school due to self-isolation, quarantine or because of increased local restrictions, they should access their learning via their Google Classroom account.
Please continue to report your child’s absence to the school office as you normally would.

The main things you can always be doing at home are to be reading regularly, practising spellings and times tables, completing explorers activities and doing regular exercise. We are very keen to promote a healthy body and mind and urge you to explore our positive mental heath and wellbeing resources on our website too. Don't forget to take regular breaks, get some fresh air, go for a walk, complete some mindfulness colouring, draw, read and talk to each other!
We hope we will not need to introduce home learning for all, but we are dedicated to being prepared to manage any eventualities which come our way.
