Our Global Goal at Corbridge CE First School

Corbridge CE First School has a big heart and a passion for supporting the local community and the wider world. All members of our school community take an active role in looking after God’s world. We pride ourselves on acting with dignity and integrity and ask children and adults alike to work together to build a fairer and more sustainable world for everyone. We are striving to maintain our status as a Climate Friendly School and limit the impact that we have upon the climate and the planet. The work we carry out in school fully supports both Northumberland County Council’s and the DfE’s aim to be Net Zero by 2030.

Our chosen goal: Year 3

Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation

Year 3 have chosen to focus on the Global Goal of Clean Water and Sanitation becasue it is an issue that directly connects to children's everyday lives and helps them understand the importance of health, fairness and responsibility. Through exploring this goal, pupils learn how access to safe water affects people's wellbeing, education and opportunities around the world. It also encourages them to think about how they use water at home and in school, and how small actions can make a positive difference.

This topic supports our learning in science, geography and PSHE, while developing empathy and global awareness in a meaningful and age-appropriate way.
